The world's largest online retailer, Alibaba, has been fined $ 2.75 billion. Chinese officials have said the internet giant has been abusing its dominant market position for several years.

In a statement, the Alibaba company said it had accepted the ruling and would ensure payment. Analysts say the fine shows that China intends to go against internet platforms it considers too large.

The fine amounts to 4% of Alibaba's revenue in 2019. Chinese officials say Alibaba has restricted competition by stopping vendors from using other platforms.
