Following a protracted process plagued by delays, demonstrations, and other drama, Germany has granted final environmental approval for Tesla Gigafactory Berlin. The State of Brandenburg issued an official statement confirming the update and outlining the next procedures necessary for the electric car manufacturer to commence vehicle manufacturing at its Germany-based factory.
While it took two years to get here, the formal approval for Gigafactory Berlin was hastened. While Tesla has gained full environmental approval for Giga Berlin, the company must still ensure that the project complies with regulatory requirements.
