Toyota is one of the most popular and respected automakers in the world, but it also has a special connection to the state of Texas. The Japanese company has been producing its full-size pickup truck, the Toyota Tundra, in San Antonio, Texas, since 2006. The Toyota plant is located on a former ranch that dates back to 1794 when Spanish colonists founded it. To celebrate this heritage and culture, Toyota has created a new special edition of the Tundra, called the 1794 Limited Edition, that combines luxury and off-road capability.

The Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition full-size pickup truck is based on the 1794 Edition trim, which is already one of the Tundra's most upscale and refined versions. The 1794 Edition is named after the year that the JLC Ranch was established and features a western-themed interior with leather seats, wood accents, and a premium sound system. The 1794 Limited Edition takes this concept even further by adding exclusive features and enhancements that make it stand out.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the 1794 Limited Edition is its interior design, which was developed in collaboration with the Saddleback Leather Company, a Texas-based manufacturer of high-quality leather goods. The Saddleback Leather Company was founded by Dave Munson, who started making leather bags in Mexico in 1999. He later moved to Texas and expanded his business to include belts, wallets, accessories, and more. His products are known for their durability, craftsmanship, and style.

The Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition full-size pickup truck features an ultra-premium leather interior that covers the seats, door panels, center console, steering wheel, and dashboard. The leather is sourced from the Saddleback Leather Company and has a rich brown color with contrast stitching and embossed 1794 Limited Edition logos. The seatbacks also have saddle bags with functional flaps and buckles, adding a touch of western flair.

The pickup truck also comes with a matching set of leather accessories from the Saddleback Leather Company, including an overnight bag, a tool roll, an owner’s manual case, a key glove, and a small bag. All of these items have 1794 Limited Edition embossing that matches the truck’s production number, which is limited to only 1,500 units.

The exterior of the truck is equally impressive, with a dark chrome grille and body side moldings, black-out accents, unique badges, and a special stamped tailgate. The truck also rides on black 20-inch alloy wheels with a machined finish and off-road tires. The color options for the truck are Wind Chill Pearl, Midnight Black Metallic, Blueprint, and Smoked Mesquite.

But the 1794 Limited Edition is not just about looks. It also has some serious off-road capability, thanks to a Fox suspension lift kit that raises the truck by 1.1 inches and improves its ground clearance and approach angle. The truck also features 2.5-inch Fox internal bypass shocks with piggyback reservoirs, providing better damping and control on rough terrain. The truck is powered by the i-Force Max hybrid engine that delivers 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system.

The 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition is expected to go on sale in spring 2024, with pricing to be announced closer to its launch date. The pickup truck is a testament to Toyota’s commitment to producing quality vehicles in America and honoring the heritage and culture of Texas. For those who want a full-size pickup truck that combines luxury and off-road performance, the Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition is a worthy contender.
