On June 24, 2022, residents of Milan awoke to the sounds of a Formula 1 racer from the Alfa Romeo team roaring through the streets of the northern Italian city. Celebrating 112 years in business, the company's roots can be traced back to the Portello neighborhood of Milan in 1910.

Valtteri Bottas, the driver for Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN and currently eighth in the Formula 1 World Championship driver standings is behind the wheel. The Finn's route began at the Piazza Duomo. Then, he runs past the Piazza San Babila, the Porta Nuova city gates from the Middle Ages, the central train station, and the ultra-modern high-rise buildings of the "City Life" project before ending on the Via Gattamelata.

Significantly for Alfa Romeo, the first production facility of the Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili (abbreviated to ALFA) from which Alfa Romeo emerged was located on this street in 1910. The world's first showroom designed by the new Alfa Romeo brand identity is situated not far away from here and is the flagship store.

The new showroom is another sign of Alfa Romeo's commitment to the Milan area. This is the beginning of a fantastic new era in automobile history. Italian sportiness, passion, and "Made in Italy" performance are deeply ingrained in the Alfa Romeo brand's psyche.

Milan, with its international and multiethnic population, is also a symbol of "Made in Italy," which is why this unique action was held in the city to kick off the day.

Happy birthday, Alfa Romeo! @via Alfa Romeo Super Sport.
