A clinical study showed that a dietary supplement containing flavanols from cocoa beans could improve your memory. Scientists at Columbia and New York Universities recruited 211 healthy people for 12 weeks of clinical study. Participants underwent several cognitive tests to assess memory and thinking.

During the study, participants were divided into four groups and received dietary supplements with different levels of cocoa flavanols.

The study was partially funded by MARS, Inc., the company that produces Mars chocolate bars and a variety of other chocolate products.
