Citroen has unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the My Ami Pop, a compact and quirky car that aims to make urban mobility more accessible and fun. The My Ami Pop is based on the Citroen Ami, a two-seater electric car Citroen launched in 2020 as a low-cost and eco-friendly alternative to public transport and scooters. The My Ami Pop adds some features and flair to the original Ami, such as:

  • A pop-up roof that can be opened and closed manually allows the driver and passenger to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
  • A customizable exterior with four different color options: Pop Blue, Pop Khaki, Pop Orange, and Pop Grey. Each color has a matching interior and a set of stickers to personalize the car.
  • A more powerful battery that increases the range from 43 miles to 56 miles, and the top speed from 28 mph to 37 mph. The battery can be fully charged in three hours using a standard 220V outlet.
  • A smartphone holder on the dashboard that lets the driver use their phone as a navigation and entertainment system. The car also has a Bluetooth speaker and a USB port for charging.

The Citroen My Ami Pop is designed to appeal to young and urban drivers who are looking for a simple and affordable way to get around the city. The car is classified as a light quadricycle in Europe, which means it can be driven by anyone over 14 years old in France and 16 years old in most other countries, without a driving license. The car also has a small footprint, measuring only 2.41 meters long and 1.39 meters wide, making it easy to park and maneuver in tight spaces.

The My Ami Pop is available for £8,495 (about $11,700) in the UK and €7,995 (about $9,500) in France and other European markets. The car can be purchased online or at selected Citroen dealerships and delivered to the customer’s home or a nearby location. The car can also be rented through Citroen’s Ami Rent service, which offers flexible and low-cost options for short-term or long-term use.

The Citroen My Ami Pop is part of Citroen’s Electric for All strategy, which aims to electrify its entire range of vehicles by 2025. The French automaker is also developing other electric models, such as the e-C4, a compact crossover, and the e-Berlingo, a versatile van. Citroen hopes that its electric vehicles will help reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution and improve the quality of life in urban areas.

The Citroen My Ami Pop is a bold and innovative addition to the electric vehicle market, offering a new way of experiencing urban mobility. The car is not only practical and economical, but also fun and stylish, reflecting Citroen’s motto of “Be Different, Feel Good”. The My Ami Pop is expected to hit the roads in the second half of 2024 and attract a new generation of drivers who are ready to embrace the electric revolution.
